Another Spot of Tea, Your Highness?
A private viewing of the Sistine Chapel generally requires either a referral from God - or the services of Attaché, the Toronto-based concierge travel service that expanded in to Calgary last year, and more recently set up a second Toronto office on the main level of Holt Renfrew's Bloor Street flagship store. (Former manager) Raquel Benzacar-Savatti says the fee-for-service company serves "an upscale niche market": sophisticated travellers who mix business with pleasure, and who want a trusted resource to arrange every aspect of their trip from the mundane to the magnificent.
"Of course we look after hotels and airlines," says (former manager) Benzacar-Savatti. "But our contacts go so much further than that. We arranged for corporate groups to have two hours alone in the Sistine Chapel. Another client had tea with the Queen at Buckingham Palace. Anything's possible if you're prepared to pay the price." Anything? "Well, we probably couldn't have gotten anyone on the space shuttle with John Glenn. But we could have arranged for them to go in a simulator with a John Glenn look-alike!" No doubt business will be taking off.
